You should take time to evaluate how successful your campaign is throughout its lifespan. Look back to your aims and objectives and see if you are on track; if not, what do you need to change?
There will likely be a lot of unpredictable elements involved in your campaign so taking stock along the way and adapting in the face of change will help keep the campaign focussed on your desired change.
Once the campaign is over, it is essential that you have a clear measure of how successful it has been. Again, refer to your aims and objectives and consider the following:
- Did your message reach the right people?
- Have the people in power committed to the change you were seeking?
- Did the media respond? Were they sympathetic to your cause?
- Did you gather enough public support to get your campaign noticed?
What worked? What didn’t? What would you do differently next time?
