Homeless Link launches the key principles for providing Housing First services in England and explains the importance of adhering to them to ensure success.
Housing First for practitioners
Focussing on implementation of the key principles, with an aim of ensuring workers embody the philosophy through their practice, this two-day course offers a creative, fun and in-depth chance to explore one of the biggest innovations to enter the homelessness sector in decades.
Who is this course for?
Homeless Link has developed this programme specifically for people delivering support in Housing First services.
What will you learn?
Provides an introduction to the approach and key principles; considering challenges in implementation, understanding rights and considering ethical dilemmas that may arise. This course provides delegates with a solid understanding of Housing First. Please note day one can be booked as a standalone course.
Building on day one, delegates will delve deeper into the principles and philosophy of Housing First. Bringing in learning from trauma and psychologically informed practice, and with an aim at shifting mindset, this course challenges and stimulates discussion so that by the end of the day delegates will know and feel how their role is so important in ending homelessness.
